Insight Timer App

This is my go-to for mindfulness and meditation. I’ve used this app for more than two years for my personal practice and I love it.  First, it’s FREE!  Now, there is a premium account but with the free account, you get so much. First, you have access to more than 19,000 titles including guided meditation and music for kids.  Second, the timer section provides singing bowls and white noise for quiet meditation. I use the timer with the chimes or bells to alert my class when it’s “breathing time”.  Lastly, the community.  Insight timer has a community of more than 7.4 million meditations. you can join groups, listen to talks or create connects.  It’s a great app. Oh, did forget to mention, you can try this for FREE!!!!

three multi-colored Hoberman Spheres

Hoberman Sphere

This sphere has so many uses, especially in my business classes.  Use this sphere to help students mentally connect movement and breath.  Place a sphere in a "quiet corner" as a calming tool for students.  Have a few spheres on hand to play games that encourage balance and coordination skills. This sphere has to be my favorite tool.  Honestly, I use the tool to calm down and breath just as much as my students.

Frog Yoga Alphabet Yoga Cards

Frog Yoga Alphabet

I have several sets of yoga cards but I use this deck the most.  I liked them so much that I bought a total of 3 packs.  Each deck has 26 cards and match a yoga pose with a letter of the alphabet. What I liked most was the design.  The cards show poses only on one side.  With one side a neutral over, the cards make it possible to play various games   I use the cards to play different games with all my students like Yoga Go fish, Concentration as well a create my own games to encourage memory, concentration and teamwork.

OHMazing® Yoga Cards

If you are teaching yoga to students who speak Spanish, then this set is a great tool for you.  I completed my training with Yoginos, Since the majority of my students are ELL, having these bilingual cards helped me to move past the language barrier to connect with my students.  Bonus is that yoginos also provide Sanskrit words.  Great opportunity to create a cross-cultural yoga class and use all three languages - English, Spanish, and Sanskrit in one class.
